The Hagen Coffee fit-out was a high-end refurbishment completed by Soho Shopfitters in just 4 weeks. Located on Swallow Street in the heart of Mayfair, the brief was to create a warm, sophisticated space with European café style and Central London polish. Every element—from bespoke joinery to brass fixtures—was crafted to reflect Hagen’s signature blend of heritage and modern minimalism.

This fast-paced project required tight coordination across trades to ensure a seamless handover and meticulous finish. The result is a beautifully refined space that balances luxury with comfort, and stands out in one of London’s most competitive hospitality districts.

About the Client: Hagen Coffee

Hagen Coffee is a boutique Scandinavian coffee brand offering high-quality brews in curated, stylish spaces. With a growing presence across London, Hagen’s Mayfair site was envisioned as both a flagship destination and a welcoming community spot—designed to serve locals, professionals, and visitors alike.

Soho Shopfitters were selected to bring this vision to life through a high-spec interior refurbishment that echoed the brand’s Danish roots while honouring the architectural style of its West End location.

Scope of Work

This was a complete interior refurbishment, delivered on a tight schedule with precision finishes throughout.

We undertook a full transformation of the unit, starting with a strip-out and progressing through bespoke fit-out, decoration, and specialist finishes. Attention was given to the balance of textures and tones—brushed brass, tactile timbers, soft lighting, and feature tiling all contribute to a serene but confident aesthetic.

Bespoke counter joinery – including marble-effect bar, service point, and custom brass detailing
Feature floor tiling – designed with integrated brand identity (‘HAGEN’ spelt in mosaic at the threshold)
Specialist wall treatments – combining panelling and textured wallpaper for warmth and contrast
Electrical and lighting installation – ambient wall lights, pendant fixtures, and concealed task lighting
Seating area joinery – crafted for comfort and space efficiency, including slimline benches and counter stools
Façade refresh – exterior painting and signage works for clean curb appeal

Challenges and Solutions

Working within a narrow unit in busy Central London required strategic logistics and creative problem solving. The layout needed to feel open, inviting, and premium—despite the spatial constraints. To achieve this, we focused on integrated seating, clever lighting, and subtle transitions between zones.

We also incorporated the brand’s signature tile pattern into the flooring to add identity without overwhelming the space. Throughout the four-week programme, coordination was key: deliveries, decorators, and specialist trades were timed to the hour to keep progress smooth and snag-free.
