The Punch Bowl Refurbishment Project was a fast-paced, high-impact makeover for one of London’s most characterful pubs, nestled in the heart of Mayfair. Commissioned by Guy Ritchie, the team at Soho Shopfitting was tasked with transforming the first-floor VIP room into a stunning private space – all within a two-week turnaround.
This project demanded a combination of bespoke joinery, full interior refurbishment, complete electrical work, and careful coordination of trades to ensure minimal disruption and a premium finish. With the pub’s reputation and clientele, attention to detail was everything.
Working in a live hospitality environment, our team had to deliver with military precision. From sourcing classic furniture to building custom joinery from scratch, every element was designed to bring warmth, personality, and a touch of heritage elegance to the space.
The Punch Bowl is one of Mayfair’s best-loved pubs – steeped in history, charm, and British hospitality. Co-owned by filmmaker and actor Guy Ritchie, the venue is known for its stylish interior, warm atmosphere, and reputation as a celebrity haunt.
Set on Farm Street, The Punch Bowl attracts both locals and international guests, offering a premium pub experience in one of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. Soho Shopfitting was brought in to reimagine the VIP room, bringing fresh life to a prestigious part of the venue that plays host to private functions and high-profile guests.
This was a full interior refurbishment project, transforming the VIP lounge on the first floor of the venue.
We carried out a complete strip-out of the space and installed three bespoke joinery pieces crafted by our in-house team. The design combined classic pub features with modern flair, creating a luxurious and inviting atmosphere perfect for private entertaining.
Refurbishing a high-profile pub in central Mayfair brought its share of challenges – from tight access and working hours to preserving the pub’s heritage charm while modernising key features.
We delivered the full project in just two weeks, coordinating multiple trades, suppliers, and bespoke fabricators to stay on schedule. Our joinery team worked offsite to construct custom pieces ready for fast installation, minimising disruption to the rest of the pub’s operations.
The result is a completely transformed VIP lounge that enhances the Punch Bowl’s reputation as a top-tier London destination.
The finished VIP room blends timeless elegance with elevated comfort – ideal for private events, corporate functions, or exclusive gatherings.
The updated space has been extremely well received and is already in use for VIP functions.
